Shere Khan's Flaw, 2019, 9x12", oil on canvas
This painting is the first of many of a series that shows behaviors and traits that are specific to humans. In this piece, I wanted to demonstrate the human ability to create and control fire. This is shown by the subject holding a flame in his hands, and close to his face. Humans are the only creatures with the cognitive ability to control and make fire on command. Additionally, the advanced dexterity of humans is demonstrated by the subjects ability to hold the flame close to his face without burning himself.
