You Are Not Immune to Propaganda, 2019, 24x18", Magazine cutouts, liquid acrylic, newspaper, gold leaf, rubber cement
This artwork represents fear and how fear changes as we age. I was inspired by my childhood fear of Santa Clause, who symbolizes innocence in this work. As I have grown I have become more afraid of aging, which is shown through the implications of the way that Santa is portrayed in this work. Because we believe in Santa as we are young, the ruining of his image is what shows the loss of innocence and progression of age in this work.
